Photography Workshops & 1-on-1 Private Lessons

During this in-depth photography workshop learn how to create stunning images that get attention with this workshop from Nichols + Company Photography.

Instructor Matt Nichols has 25+ years of photography experience, over 20 years as a full-time photographer and lectured to all levels of photography students from beginners, hobbyists and semi-professionals and has taught college course classes at a local four year university. I love teaching and sharing my photography knowledge with all levels of photographers and creatives!

Private One-On-One (1on1) Workshops: $250 for 2 hours ($125p/ hour, 2 hour min) and offers a more personalized session and is customized for each students level of experience and technical needs. Please email or call me to discuss your camera gear options, camera settings, studio lighting or shoot experience and I will plan a lesson to address all your questions at the level of experience you wish to achieve!

Besides going over camera settings and using your gear more efficiently - All 1on1 Workshops may also include shooting in the field with a model at a location of your choosing OR at the studio with your model, wardrobe and props. You can bring your lighting or we can use mine.

I also offer Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom workshops lessons which covers exposure adjustments, cloning, object removal, head swaps, skin retouching, layering for composites or Lightroom workflow from beginning import, batch processing to final export and exporting files for website / social media and print files. I can teach you my entire Lightroom workflow that I have developed for nearly 20+ years working in both these software platforms. Just come to my downtown studio with an open mind and a passion to learn I'll make sure to teach you at your level of understanding. All experience are welcome to come and learn!

You can pay for a 1on1 workshop with: Cash, Check (mailed), CC +4% processing fee, CashApp, Venmo and ApplePay. A 50% deposit is required to be added to my calendar. Group DSLR Photography Workshops: CURRENTLY NOT OFFERING GROUP LESSONS - Attend a 2-hour group workshop on using your DSLR camera and easy to replicate techniques that you can practice every time you pick up your camera.

• Hands-on class covers all camera exposure controls, ISO, aperture / shutter speeds, color balance, image composition and more!
• Discover different types of available light and how to see, bend and use it to your advantage.
• Also learn how focus works, depth of field and lens selection can make a difference in your final composition.
• The use of flash, reflectors and scrims in outdoor photography will also be discussed.
• BYO camera equipment, camera manual, notebook to instructors downtown photography studio for workshop

Classes held from 10AM - Noon OR 1PM - 3PM on Saturdays. Workshop is limited to 10 Students with a minimum of 5. Private One-On-One sessions may also be scheduled for a more personal experience and hands on shooting. See below for more info on those!

• Students will also receive a simple easy to read booklet of info discussed in class to take home and review. Bring your camera gear, camera manual and a notebook for note taking.
• Class consists of 2 hour hands on instruction including time for of Q & A's. Instructor encourages any photography related questions, nothing is off limits! Make a list before class and try to stump Matt!
